REFLECTIONS

As Baptists, we believe that every Christian should study the Bible and with the help of the Holy Spirit interpret the Scriptures for themselves. Of course, we can get help in understanding by reading and listening to what other Christians write and say. In our church, I often remind the congregation that they should not accept everything I preach to them on Sunday. What I tell them to do is to make notes, copy the Scriptures, then go home and read the Scriptures for themselves. Then they should decide whether they agree with what I said or not. In Christian churches, there are different ways of interpretating and differing opinions on how to interpret some parts of Scripture. That's why we have different Christian denoninations such as Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc. Even within Baptist circles there are differing interpretations. In this section we present some ideas on which you and I may disagree. But, whether you agree or not, we hope these articles will make you read your Bible amd think about your relationship with God.
